First FM company joins the Association for Key Account Management and its board
EMCOR UK has become the first facilities management company to join the Association for Key Account Management (AKAM).
In addition to EMCOR UK becoming a member of AKAM, Steven Dolan, Operations Director for EMCOR UK, will join the AKAM board.
AKAM is a not-for-profit organisation, established five years ago, with over 400 corporate and individual members from around the world. Its mission is the professionalisation of KAM, improving standards and gaining recognition of KAM as a distinct discipline. KAM is the systematic process of planning and managing a mutually beneficial partnership between an organisation and its most important customers.
Recognising the importance of key account management more than 300 employees have been through the company’s KAM training and development programmes since 2008 which also centred around ISO40001 – the International Standard for collaborative business relationships. The EMCOR UK programme has also been certified by the Institute for Collaborative Working (ICW).
Dolan, who leads EMCOR UK’s internal KAM, said: “Our partnership with AKAM is a natural progression to further our knowledge, create value for our customers and provide our employees with access to best practice resources to support their personal development including professionally recognised qualifications and accreditations.”
Membership of AKAM will provide access to white papers, additional training, webinars and development programmes and all employees will automatically become a member of AKAM once they have completed the EMCOR UK training programme.
